Not that I would necessarily want to relive my freshman year of college but I can vividly remember sitting in my Business 101 class. It was the first semester of my freshman year and during that first class I remember learning one thing. You will not be a business major. A similar reality came during the first day of my first photography class; you HAVE to be a photographer, and I took it to heart.

I took my first photo at the age of two, probably by accident, but my mom trusted me to hold a point and shoot film camera out hiking one summer afternoon and a photo was captured of a panicked mother running towards the probably falling camera. And a passionate photographer was born. I owe much of the passion that I have for the art of photography to my mom. She never wanted to miss anything. And lucky for me, usually didn’t. I’ve learned more in the past 6 years of photographing professionally about people, the beauty found in simple times, and photography than I ever thought possible and I can’t imagine doing anything else.

Katy Cooper Photography is all about capturing your emotion and your life moments in such a way that you will have the opportunity to remember it forever. My hope is that by looking at your KCP photos you will be able to open that little jar of perfectly preserved memories and it will bring you back in time. I‘m a photographer and my purpose is to capture moments that will never happen again and that can never be recreated, those times that matter most.
